Leving's New Virtual Visitation Law Goes Into Effect January 1, 2010

CHICAGO, Dec. 30 -- Beginning Friday, January 1, 2010, Illinois Judges will now have statutory authority to award virtual visitation to non-custodial parents as a result of a new law co-authored by Chicago divorce attorney Jeffery M. Leving. This law will allow many children and non-custodial parents to utilize technologies such as email, telephone, internet and video conferencing to protect and strengthen critical parent-child relationships. Illinois becomes the sixth state to implement Virtual Visitation legislation.

Jeffery M. Leving is co-author of the Joint Custody Law in Illinois and his website, http://dadsrights.com, is often the first place fathers turn when seeking assistance with complex custody cases worldwide. In August, Jeffery Leving was called upon as an expert resource for the First White House Roundtable on Responsible Fatherhood.

Known for advocating strong family bonds, Chicago divorce attorney Jeffery Leving and his firm have reunited fathers and children since 1981. He helped reunite Elian Gonzalez with his father in Cuba, winning international support. In August, Leving was selected as an expert resource for the first White House Roundtable & Town Hall Meeting on Responsible Fatherhood.
