As Governor of the State of Illinois, I am pleased to welcome everyone gathered for the 2018 Annual Symposium of the Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood (ICRF).
Each year the ICRF’s symposium provides the community with cutting edge research on the harmful societal effects of father absence and with expert advice on real world solutions for increasing father involvement and strengthening Illinois families. ICRF should take great pride in its accomplishments and I commend you for your service to the community.
Today’s symposium also recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of Jeffery M. Leving on his outstanding service as Chairperson of ICRF. Under his dynamic leadership, and with the active support and commitment of ICRF Members ICRF has rightfully earned recognition as a leading authority on the strong link between father absence and society ills, as well as a trusted resource for those who are actively engaged in promoting strong families and a harmonious society.
