Leving Firm Matrimonial Law Seminar: Parental Responsibilities for Non-Parents
CHICAGO – The Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving® Ltd. will host the next presentation of the Arthur S. Kallow Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Seminar Series on July 17th at 6:30 p.m. CDT at 225 West Wacker Drive Suite 1600 in Chicago.
The keynote CLE speaker, matrimonial and family law attorney Michael Ochoa, who has been awarded the Best International Custody Lawyer Award, will be presenting on parental responsibilities for non-parents. As Mr. Ochoa, a brilliant and seasoned attorney will explain, Illinois law allows non-parents an allocation of parental responsibilities in the same capacity as parents in certain specific circumstances. Under the law, provided that certain requirements are met, any person – including stepparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other long-term caretakers of children – can get majority parenting time and sole decision-making authority of any child, whether that person is related to the child or not, if it is in the best interests of the child.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
